Zakiyyah is the founder and CEO of Personally Thoughtful LLC.
What’s your day job? I am a medical device engineer by trade with over 17 years experience working for customer-centric companies in Research and Development. My career has helped me develop a great attention to detail and given me the skillset to identify the needs and wants of the customer to provide the best possible solution.
Why Personally Thoughtful? Although, my background is technical in nature, my true passion is in connecting with people and making them feel good. Throughout my life, I’ve loved giving the perfect, most thoughtful gifts to friends and loved ones. People then started to ask me to help them purchase a gift for their loved ones, and Personally Thoughtful LLC was born.
Best gift you've ever received? I always wanted a surprise birthday party. For my 35th birthday, my family threw me a surprise party and I did not have a clue. It was the best gift ever. Family and friends attended and the decorations and gifts were overwhelming.
Favorite TV show: It’s so hard to pick one. I would have to say “World of Dance”. I also love This is Us, Outlander, The Resident, the list goes on…..
Favorite Movies: “Let’s do it Again,” “The Five Heartbeats”, and “The Wiz.”
Favorite gift you've ever given? I recently gifted my sister tickets to see her favorite artist in concert. She literally fell onto the ground and cried in shock. She was so happy and I was truly touched that it meant so much to her.
“I believe that love is in the details. Gifts given to my loved ones represent how I feel about the person or how I wanted that person to feel. My hope is that I can inspire people to be more thoughtful and have them affect others in the same way.”
