Case Study: A Special 70th Birthday Gift
The Client:
Shakura wanted a special gift to celebrate her mother’s 70th birthday. This was a big planned event with family and friends visiting out of state to honor this mother of 8. Shakura was looking for a special unique gift for her mother.
How We Found the Perfect Personally Thoughtful Gift:
I spoke with the client and filled out the questionnaire based on her feedback to discover as much as I could about her mother, the types of things that would bring her joy, things she liked to do as a child, her passion, etc. I also was able to gather special circumstances such as religious considerations that would limit the gifts she could have, as well as taking into account some of her health limitations. Based on the feedback I came up with a couple of ideas.
A Perfect Gift for a Motown Lover and Artist
Since this mother was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, I found out that she had a love for Motown music and owned her very own record player. My thought was to gift her the 60th Anniversary Motown Complete No 1s Collection.
I found out that she was a visual artist and enjoyed painting when her children were smaller. However, in the face of losing her beloved husband she took a step back from painting to raise her kids. As a result I recommended a subscription service that would send monthly hand-selected materials for fine art projects and provide instructional video guidance. In that way it would be a way to revisit her passion.
Topped Off With the Perfect Outfit
I found out she loved beautiful free flowing colorful outfits so I was able to find a beautiful colorful outfit that would brighten her day. With an understanding of her style and taste I was able to locate the perfect outfit that would make her shine.
I discussed the ideas with the client and she chose the colorful outfit and was very pleased.
